Our story

Our Legacy Foundation is a non-profit African organization working to empower women and youth economically in rural areas through climate-resilient agriculture, entrepreneurship, and improved access to resources.

The Foundation develops and implements innovative projects combining technical training, agricultural infrastructure (including greenhouses), and strategic support to strengthen food sovereignty, create sustainable opportunities, and reduce inequalities.

Our approach is based on leading by example: by investing in women farmers, we build replicable and scalable models for inclusive local development.

We work closely with rural communities, technical partners, donors, and governments to build a future where rural women are leading economic actors.

Economic empowerment

Economic empowerment

Women’s economic empowerment is an essential lever for strengthening the resilience and development of rural communities. When women have equitable access to land, modern agricultural infrastructure, skills, and markets, they can build sustainable productive activities, increase their income, and play a more active role in economic and social decision-making.

This empowerment also helps strengthen food security and the stability of rural households, because income generated by women is often reinvested in food, health, and children’s education. By supporting women’s access to modern agricultural solutions, training, and economic opportunities, it becomes possible to create more inclusive development dynamics and sustainably strengthen community resilience.

Climate resilience

Climate resilience

Rural women are on the front line in facing the effects of climate change. Droughts, irregular rainfall, and heatwaves directly affect the agricultural systems on which their families and communities depend. Strengthening their adaptive capacity is therefore essential to preserve food production and the stability of rural households.

By facilitating access to climate-resilient agricultural solutions, adapted farming practices, and better crop calendar planning, it becomes possible to secure production throughout the year and sustainably strengthen community resilience.

Technology as a solution

Technology as a solution

Technology is an essential lever for strengthening agricultural productivity and resilience to climate change. We facilitate women farmers’ groups’ access to appropriate technological solutions such as agricultural greenhouses equipped with solar pumps and drip irrigation systems, which secure access to water and make year-round production possible.

These infrastructures help better control production conditions and the cropping calendar while reducing dependence on rain-fed agriculture. Digital tools complement this support by facilitating access to information, crop monitoring, and market opportunities, thereby strengthening women’s capacity to develop more efficient and sustainable agricultural activities.
